Welcome to the first ever Gaming News!
This segment will be released every Sunday, and will detail any notable gaming events/announcements that take place during the week. Lets get to it!
BioShock Infinite Gameplay Demo
After an extremely successful showing at E3, Irrational Games's BioShock Infinite was awarded with countless accolades and generated colossal amounts of buzz and hype within the gaming industry. Once E3 had ended, drooling fanatics were left with little but a few 2 minute teaser trailers to feed their BioShock Infinite cravings. However this past week, that all changed with the release of a 15 minute demo video, that boasts impressive visuals and hectic gameplay.
BioShock Infinite has been stated as neither a prequel or sequel to its 2 predecessors, as the game moves away from the underwater city that is Rapture and instead takes place in an air city named Columbia. Rest assured though, BioShock Infinite retains its style and concepts and is still very much a BioShock game. BioShock Infinite will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2012.

Theatrhytm - Final Fantasy
At last, the unpredictable Square Enix revealed plans this week to release a Final Fantasy game for the 3DS. However it is far from the previous games we have grown accustomed to as Square Enix made yet another unanticipated move in announcing Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.
The bizarre title has been categorised by its creators as being a "Theater Rhythm Action" as success within the game is dependent upon the players ability to keep in time with the on screen prompts. As seen in the first six Final Fantasy titles, the game adopts the classic side view for battles, but will of course be in 3D, a new dynamic to the retro battle system. The game is also rumoured to feature some familiar faces from the Final Fantasy franchise such as Cloud and Lightning.
Though it may sound unusual, tapping in time along to Final Fantasy tracks whilst fighting off fearsome beasts is a combination I'd sure like to try!
The game has not yet been given a release date.

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair PSN Release
Good news for PS3 owners this week, as Castlevania: Harmony of Despair was announced for the Playstation Network. After being released exclusively to the Xbox Live Arcade last year, Konami revealed it would be hitting PSN sometime during the summer. The game has been praised for its incorporation of multiplayer and has been widely credited for its new direction in the series.
A few new features have been included with the release of the game on PSN, such as a new 4 player co-operative mode, as well as a map pack titled "Beauty Desire, Situation Dire" that previously costed Xbox owners extra money to download.
A nice sorry gift from Konami to its Playstation fanbase!
